Nokia Asha 205 Review
The new Asha 205 is a 2G only phenomenon that runs dual-SIM networking while its EasySwap port enables access to the second SIM without removing the battery. The phone brings pre-installed apps including FaceBook, Twitter and eBuddy and offers access to 40 EA games on Nokia Store. So do not forget to live the experience of the most Social Phone to the date by Nokia– the Nokia Asha 205 coming in Pakistan at a very tempting price. We have been after Asha series since it was launched a little more than a year ago. But, this time we are very excited to see the Nokia Slam technology as a quick-to-share Bluetooth features debuts on Asha 205. The phone features QWERTY keyboard with no touchscreen installed targeted to lower or middle class users of Pakistan who either don’t have enough money or don’t like to take extra care because of the sensitivity of high-end phones. Keeping that in mind, we have taken a quick visual analysis of the new Asha 205. For a price like this, it is better to see what this phone is capable of rather than what it lacks in contrast of highly-plriced smart phones.
Moving on to our testing session with a number of features, the navigation was quick and easy. The interface and user experience is pretty much responsive and would not let you call it sluggish and frustrating at all. We attentively spent extensive time with the preloaded Twitter app and result was quite similar – it functioned properly in the way similar to smartphones. It is quite surprising for us to see breezy and speedy page loads even on a 2G connection.
So what comes under the hood? Well the name of Social Phone is clearly signifying that phone is targeted at social media enthusiasts in countries like Pakistan. The first time introduced physical Facebook button in a Nokia phone can be seen on left of navigation controls.
Although the QWERTY keyboard is not giving a super-perfect feel like Blackberry, quick to respond and ample gap between them is something to cheer about. The screen areas measure to 2.4 inches the same as Nokia 206 has but in landscape screen, which compared to overall design, feels a thirst of little more. We were presented with white, orange, pink and black skins by Nokia mobiles so we hope that phone will be available atleast in all those colors. On the top panel, there rest the headphone and charging ports. On its back, it has a very basic VGA camera that we would expect to be around 2MP.
Regardless of the fact that overall body is plastic built weighing under 94 grams, still we were able to feel the always Nokia’s solid body on the phone. Under the rear cover rests a battery that can lasts up to 37 days on standby; something that smartphone can’t even compete with. Like in the co-model, phone debuts the Nokia Slam technology that allows you to transfer media files between devices, which are Bluetooth enabled straightaway without pairing them.
The Asha 205 is already announced and it will hit the retail markets all over the world before the year ends. We are going to sum up our quick review with the note that if you are looking for a connectivity featured phone, without having the tag of smartphone and paying high prices, the Asha 205 is worth looking up.
