Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo
Samsung Pocket Neo Review
The announcement of Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo as an entry level phone in the Galaxy series targeting low budgeters is definitely going to raise some eyebrows. Not only does this phone have a set of modest features but also serves two SIMS as its DUOS sign clearly indicates. Then again, with the announcement of Galaxy Star right by its side, Samsung is making sure that it has everything ready to serve all sorts of buyers.
There are a lot of things in Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo that remind of Samsung Galaxy Pocket Duos, which was announced last year as a phone catering to low budget buyers. The body design and the styling is more or less the same with Neo being a little curvier on the top and bottom edges. The dimensions are also almost the same; however Pocket Duos was a little thicker being 13mm compared to Neo’s 11.8mm. The metallic edges around the body, buttons on the side and below the screen, all have the same placements, so there is nothing novel this time from design perspective.
However, talking about the specifications, the only difference between Galaxy Star and Galaxy Pocket Neo is that the latter one comes with a DUOS feature; rest of the things remaining almost the same. Compared to the earlier version of Pocket phone, Neo does have a slightly larger display screen and storage features. Like the previous model had 3GB of internal memory while Neo not only carries 4GB of storage but a slightly better 850Ghz processor as well.
One major thing that makes Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo supersede Star or earlier Pocket is its support for 3G connectivity along with Wi-Fi, which makes it a well rounded phone overall. Being able to stream speedy internet and communicate over social media in a budget-fit phone is certainly something that we don’t see much often.
Other than that, there are several places where Galaxy Pocket Neo goes somewhat above expectations and equally underground. For instance having a low screen resolution and pesky little PPI on a 3-inch screen is something that makes its user dread its interface. Then the responsiveness often lags, enumerating it as a phone not being capable to go rough and tough throughout the day. Covering up the black holes is its winner JellyBean OS marking its vivid point of excellence over similar and mostly Nokia’s Asha phones. So, it Neo is certainly a better choice for phone of the same class.
Overall, if you are looking for a dual sim supporting phone, with impeachable specifications in a tight budget, while not compromising on style and elegance, Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo makes a wonderful choice. Even as a secondary phone it steers clear throughout the day without messing things up making it rank as one of the quality phones in the Galaxy clan.
